LDFI APPLAUDS PEERAGE FOR CHAIRMAN MONROE PALMER
19 November 2010
Liberal Democrat Friends of Israel (LDFI) congratulates its chairman, Monroe Palmer OBE, on the news that he is to enter the House of Lords as a life peer.
LDFI’s Gavin Stollar said: “I am delighted that Monroe has been honoured in this way. He will be a great Parliamentarian, including in debates on Israel and other issues of importance to the Jewish community. Monroe’s appointment to the Lords is further proof that the Liberal Democrats can be trusted on the issues that matter to UK Jews.”
LDFI’s Matthew Harris added: “In his many years as a Barnet councillor, Monroe has been a pillar of the Jewish and wider communities. Nobody has worked harder on behalf of local people, for whom he will now be a voice in Parliament.”
