Gilad Shalit Vigil on 24th February
Gilad Shalit, a 24 year old Israeli, has been languishing in captivity for over four years, held hostage by Hamas. Contrary to international law, Gilad has been denied all visits, including from organisations such as the Red Cross. You can register your concern about Gilad Shalit at the Vigil on February 24 from 6-7.30 pm outside the Red Cross Offices in Moorgate.
Join with LDFI and other community organisations in this vigil, or a simultaneous vigil to be held in Albert Square, Manchester. There will also be events on university campuses across the country. These vigils will include eminent speakers, such as the Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks and HE Ambassador Ron Prosor, and the releasing of symbolic Chinese lanterns to represent the number of days Gilad Shalit has been held prisoner.
